CREAMY BACON AND BASIL TAGLIATELLE

CREAMY  BACON  AND  BASIL  TAGLIATELLE:   

On the table in 30 min
          
INGREDIENTS:

500  g  tagliatelle  pasta
2  litres ( 8 cups) boiling water
4  bacon rashers, sliced thinly
300  ml  cream
1/3  cup (80ml) dry white wine
2  tsp  seeded mustard
2  tbsp  finely grated parmesan cheese
1  tbsp  cornflour
2  tbsp  water
1/2  cup chopped fresh basil leaves
6  green onions, chopped

METHOD:
  • Place pasta in large microwave-safe bowl, cover with boiling water; cook, uncovered, on HIGH (100%) about 12 minutes or until just tender, stirring twice during cooking. Drain pasta, cover to keep warm.
  • Place bacon between 4 sheets of absorbent paper; cook on HIGH (100%) about 3 minutes or until bacon is crisp.
  • Combine bacon, cream, wine, mustard, cheese and blended cornflour and water in large microwave-safe bowl; cook, uncovered, on HIGH (100%) 4 minutes or until sauce boils and thickens, stirring once during cooking. Stir in basil and onion. Serve pasta with creamy bacon sauce.
